The room and bathroom were lovely, very comfortable, and the old‑style building had beams; the restaurant was excellent, parking was convenient, and the staff were welcoming. However, the room got cold in the evening and the radiator wouldn’t turn on, and the steam room in the spa was unbearably hot.

The hotel was nicely decorated, had all the facilities I needed, even an EV charger, and the restaurant food was excellent with a spa available. The bed, though, was too hard and disrupted my sleep.

The grounds were lovely and easy to find; the braised beef dinner was incredible. On arrival the receptionist was chatting with another staff member, so we had to interrupt to check in. The dinner was good, but the dessert fell short: the brownie tasted like it had been defrosted in the microwave and was more cake, and the cheesecake was slightly warm and looked like it had been cut from another piece. The room looked basic compared to the photos, and nail/screw holes on the bathroom and room door frames spoiled the appearance.

The soundproofing was good; a wedding was happening that weekend and as hotel guests we wouldn’t have known it, the rooms stayed very quiet. Restaurant staff were generally helpful, but service standards were a bit uneven.

Breakfast was nice, the staff were busy but friendly and welcoming, though it was clear they were short‑staffed. Hot water problems persisted, and overall cleanliness around the hotel, especially the pool areas, was poor.
