The hostel building sits in the city centre, close to all the interesting and important places. Unfortunately, our stay began quite badly, and that heavily affected our first impression of the hostel. When we arrived, we had to wait a long time before we could reach our room. The keys and door codes were to be obtained from a café‑grill on the ground floor. The same young woman handled both the cooking and the check‑ins. She had to repeatedly verify our door codes, and I had to give my surname about eight times. Finally, I offered to write it down, because I felt that figuring out the same thing was taking too long. When we got the first door code, we still couldn’t get in. The lock system requires very precise and gentle keying, and such a system was unfamiliar to us. Both my husband and I tried for about 10–15 minutes, but we failed. The same issue happened with the room door. Using the code requires knowing exactly how and when to press the buttons. We had to wait another 15–20 minutes before an employee freed themselves from other tasks and could show us how to use the lock. In total, we lost about 40–45 minutes just to gain access to our room and put our luggage in. We were already tired and had very little time to explore the evening city. I think this is a major shortcoming, because check‑in should be as easy and clear as possible for guests. This poor start unfortunately had a huge impact on our first impression of the hostel. Another practical drawback was parking. When we arrived in September, when the peak season was over, only one parking spot remained in the hostel yard. The yard is small and the parking area is quite tight and difficult.

The accommodation’s location was excellent. The facilities were mostly clean, but one of the refrigerators had a strong, unpleasant smell. It was a quiet and peaceful place, plus free parking. The beds in the room were bad, and the air‑conditioning listed in the room details was not present. The room smelled bad, damp and musty.
