We stayed just one night in New Orleans and wanted a spot close enough to Bourbon Street but not right on the craziness, so this was perfect. We walked a few blocks to Bourbon Street and then returned to a calmer part of the neighborhood for a good night’s sleep. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. A light complimentary breakfast (typical of the hotel type) would have been a nice perk; I’ve stayed in the same chain before and they offered that. Also, the ice machine on my floor wasn’t working, which was a small inconvenience but not a big deal.

Very convenient to everything, clean, and the staff were nice. The room needs more seating and fewer cabinets.

I arrived at a convenient spot, but the power cut hit right when I was checking in. The lobby was filled with visibly upset guests, and it turned out the outage was due to a transformer outside the hotel, not a fault of theirs. I suspect those guests might have received some sort of compensation for their complaints, but I was checked out a day early because our towels weren’t being replaced. The person on the phone assured me it would be fixed, yet I kept getting Apple Pay notifications about declined transactions—apparently they were using the card number from Apple Pay instead of the actual card I paid with. Later I discovered I was overcharged: they billed me for the entire night instead of my remaining balance. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Even though the outage wasn’t the hotel’s fault, a decent business should offer some form of compensation when guests are left without water, electricity, or air during a July night, not just to those who yell at staff.
