The location is great with an amazing view and booking is easy, but the rooms feel a bit worn; a fresh coat of paint in the room I stayed in would make a big difference.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotels on my trip; the room was poorly cleaned, I found hair and dirt on the bathroom floor, and there was a serious fly problem—once we arrived we spent about an hour chasing them everywhere, probably because they were already in the room or coming in through drafts. The towels were dark blue, not light blue, making it impossible to tell if they were clean or had stains. I’ve stayed at many hotels and this is the first time I’ve seen such dark towels; it made me uneasy using them because I wasn’t sure they were clean. I couldn’t report these issues to staff because the reception was closed from 8 pm to 8 am (we left early). The only positive was the location, very close to the park.

The hotel sits in the heart of the Badlands and offers easy access to various sites around the park, but the facilities feel dated, there is no breakfast, and the convenience store is only moderately stocked.
