The host and staff were friendly and the room was comfortable, but finding food in town without a car was tough, and there was no on‑site restaurant for lunch.

Il Portico feels like a traditional, rustic spot with plenty of character, tucked deep in the countryside of the small village of Carrosio; the nearby town offers shops and a variety of restaurants, and our motorcycle had safe parking. After a long ride in over 30 °C, the host Patricia greeted us warmly, and the AC in our room was very good. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, although Il Portico is known locally for its pizzeria, we had booked dinner for the evening but were told the restaurant was closed for a private event, which disappointed us because we didn’t want to go back out again.

Everything was great—friendly, clean, spacious, and beautiful rooms! The only flaw I could find was the absence of Nutella at breakfast, although the spread was still varied and plentiful.

The welcome was superb in a magnificent village, the dinner was succulent, breakfast excellent, and everything was perfect—nothing to complain about.
