“Si no quieres sufrir. No vengas aquí”
The place was a total letdown – nothing to show for the steep price, and it sits in the middle of nowhere. I’d say it was the worst hostel I stayed at on my whole China trip.

This rustic inn sits right in the lower mountains, on the trail up to Wudang Mt. The owners were top‑notch: friendly service, helpful info, and they cooked meals on request.

No TV at all – exactly the opposite of what the listing said.

If you’re planning to hike from Nanyan to the Golden Summit of Wudang Mt., this homestay is a solid base, and you can even camp for less. The downside? The bathroom is a bit cramped and not very comfortable.

I really liked the spot, the rooms, and how I was treated. It’s a simple, authentic local inn, and the owners welcomed me warmly, even using a translator to make sure I understood everything. The bathroom is typical of rural China, but it didn’t bother me; the mountain setting is cold, so they gave us a huge thermal bottle with hot water that stayed hot all night, perfect for tea or a quick cup of coffee in the morning. They also provided toothbrushes, soap, and other basics.
