The room was spacious, comfortable, and the shower was good; the staff were very friendly, and the outdoor deck area was lovely. Yet there was a faint hum that seemed like an extractor fan, plus music and shouting from below—perhaps a kitchen, though I’m not sure—and it only persisted until about 11 pm, so it wasn’t a huge issue. Also, an external staircase led up to the rooms, and the door to the building upstairs stayed open all night; we weren’t sure whether to close it because we only had a key for our room, not for the outside door, and that made us feel a bit exposed to anyone who might climb the stairs.

The location was convenient, but the burger was undercooked, the bed was uncomfortable, the hair dryer didn’t work, the bar area leaked under the floor for all three nights, and the bar still had empty glasses from the previous night at breakfast.

The place was clean, well decorated, and offered good value for money, but the room I stayed in was noisy because it faced the main road, and the bacon at breakfast was too underdone for my taste.
