“Un hotel encantador que et fa sentir com si estiguessis en un conte”
The rooms and dining area are well decorated, but the exterior looks a bit abandoned and detracts from the overall experience.

The room had no fridge, and charging an e‑bike costs 3 €—that’s very expensive here, as I would normally recharge 100 times for 3 € back home. Some rooms have a view, but the overall quality is just acceptable, not beautiful. The staircase, the sun terrace, and the courtyard are neglected and unkempt.

At first glance, Hotel Adler Chance has a unique charm. It feels like an old‑fashioned, slightly eccentric place with its own character. The staircase leading up to the hotel has an almost spooky vibe, and the old‑roofed entrance to the reception adds to that unusual feel, almost like stepping onto an old film set. Our room was fairly clean, which is worth noting. We stayed in the bridal suite, which unfortunately lacks a balcony—our own oversight for not checking the description carefully. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and the room’s old‑fashioned furnishings gave it a slightly “Sisi” atmosphere. The bathroom is definitely dated, but the shower worked well and the towels were clean. The coffee at breakfast was a pleasant surprise, served in a very traditional way with an individual pot, milk, and sugar—very charming, and the coffee itself was fine. We also found the hotel and its surroundings to have a nostalgic character. If you appreciate old buildings, antique‑style furniture, and a place that isn’t a modern, polished hotel, you might enjoy the atmosphere here. Unfortunately, we found a cockroach in the room, which we reported. We were told this can happen when the window is open in warm weather, an explanation that seemed somewhat surprising, but we didn’t want to make a big deal. Breakfast was quite basic, with only old apples as fruit; perhaps this was due to the very low occupancy, as we saw only one other guest during our stay. The traditional coffee service with a small pot, milk, and sugar was charming, and the coffee itself was fine. Our departure left us with a negative impression. We had to pay €6 in tourist tax, which is reasonable, but were told it had to be paid in cash. The owner insisted that this was clearly stated in our confirmation. I checked my confirmation and showed him that it was not included. Despite this, he continued to insist that it was. We withdrew the money, paid the €6, and tried to leave it at that, but the discussion continued. Afterwards, I contacted the hotel, who confirmed that the cash‑payment requirement was indeed not included in the confirmation I had received. For me, it was never about the €6, but about how the situation was handled. A little understanding and hospitality would have made a big difference. I even sent the owner a friendly email afterward to explain this, but unfortunately the response remained rather defensive. I am sure the owner may respond to this review by saying that the information was in the mailing and that he did everything he could to explain this to us. I respect that he may have a different perspective on what happened. However, I can only share our experience as guests. The information was not included in the confirmation we received, and regardless of where the information may have been displayed on the hotel’s side, the way the situation was handled left us with a very unpleasant feeling. Please look further for a nicer hotel!
