Quinta da Bemposta, Joane, blends historic charm with modern comfort in a restored manor. Guests swim in a saltwater pool, sunbathe on a terrace, and stroll through lush gardens. Free Wi‑Fi, a tennis court, private parking, and family rooms enhance the stay. Nearby, Salado Memorial, Duques de Bragança Palace, and Guimarães Castle await.

I liked the location; it’s big and close to restaurants and markets. The room had a damp smell.

The place is quiet yet close to supermarkets and restaurants. The amenities include a lovely swimming pool, a quiet area, a BBQ if needed, and indoor space if the weather changes. The property’s charm—old, quirky, and a resident cat who loved to say hello—keeps it clean for its age. The damp smell in the room and bathroom is expected in this very old, poorly ventilated property, a bit like a cave house.

I liked the room and the cleanliness. I didn’t like the reception, couldn’t enjoy the pool with my kids, and found the lack of breakfast unacceptable.

The estate is beautiful. Regarding the double room, the interior is very dark and poorly ventilated. The toilet bowl needs replacing because the porcelain is damaged; there’s a leak at the sink and the shower head needs changing. We never saw the owners; communication was only via SMS. The pool needed a thorough clean, and we couldn’t swim despite the heat because it was too dirty. A shelf is missing on the right or left of the mirror for toiletries in the bathroom.
