“Vista linda do Rio São Francisco”
The view of the São Francisco River is stunning and the spot is well‑situated. It sits in a quiet area a bit away from the city centre, yet you can walk to nearby restaurants and cafés. The rooms are basic but provide all the essentials.
“Foi uma otima experiencia !”
I loved the breakfast, especially the quijo coalho with passionfruit jam; the rural setting with free‑roaming chickens, dogs, cats, the view of the Rio São Francisco, and the very welcoming people were great, but the room lacked a power outlet, the one that existed was wired to the TV, and the other didn't work; the towel and laundry hanging spots were quite rustic, there was no small table or hangers, or something like that.
“Maravilhosa”
The place is simple, but it meets the expected standard. The contact with nature was a highlight.
“Pousada maravilhosa”
What we liked most about the inn was its natural and preservation‑friendly atmosphere, all very well organized.
“Pousada linda para quem quer ficar estar mais próximo à natureza.”
The lodge feels like a tiny farm more than a hotel, but if you’re after nature it’s fantastic. Waking up to the São Francisco River, with a dive‑in spot, or lying in a hammock watching the sunset is pure bliss. Breakfast is good and the service is flawless. The location is superb unless you mind a 800‑metre walk on a dirt road to the historic site; you can also take a private car and park at the start of that little road. The view from that road is breathtaking. The mattresses and pillows are comfy and clean, and the towels are tidy. The only downside was that the room’s air‑conditioner lacked a working thermostat, so it got quite cold at night and water dripped into the bathroom, making a noise that could bother some. The bathroom was simple with an open shower box that soaked the floor. We also noticed a faint sewage smell coming through the drain when we opened the room after a long time closed; turning on the AC fixed it.
