The location is fantastic for enjoying the views of Lake Titicaca and getting up close with the local way of life; the owners make you feel very comfortable and help with transfers, excursions or small needs, always attentive to any request. Renzo explains the Uros community and the broader Aymara culture very well. The dinners and breakfasts are excellent. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy the peace and beauty of the area.

The spot is amazing, literally on the water. Renzo, the manager, is extremely kind and helpful, assisting with organizing trips to the Uros village and Taquile island. The bed is huge and super comfortable, with plenty of blankets so you don’t feel the sharp cold that comes at night, really piercing. From the first morning, though, the sun warms the room and the temperature rises quickly. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to fully enjoy the peace and the wonderful beauty of Titicaca. The sharp night cold (but under the blankets it’s fine), the compostable toilet, and the few minutes it takes for hot water to reach the shower are quirks of the location and do not diminish the overwhelmingly positive view of the property.

We stayed at Lodge Titicaca Dora and the experience had strong highs and lows. On one hand, the property is really beautiful, set in a suggestive and well‑maintained environment. The staff are extremely kind, welcoming and always available, and the kitchen is great: we ate very well. On the other hand, the painful note concerns basic comfort and hygiene services: extreme cold—temperatures dropping to 0 °C in the room, no heating at all—makes the stay very harsh; the feeling in the evening and night is literally like sleeping outdoors; it’s a cold you’ve never felt before. The bathroom and running water: the toilet has no running water and you must cover your needs with earth. The shower and freezing pipes: during the day hot water takes over 3 minutes to arrive, and the mixer is unusable—the water goes from icy to boiling with no middle ground. In the morning the situation worsens, as the water freezes in the pipes and there’s no water to wash. Towels: the supply is definitely poor (only one shower towel available for two). In short, the location is fascinating and the people are wonderful, but the lack of essential services and minimal comfort for harsh temperatures heavily impacts the experience. If you decide to stay here, you’ll need an extreme spirit of adaptation.

“Top locatie en een hele lieve gastvrouw Dora”

Prachtige locatie, wij hebben 3 huisjes gehuurd en ze waren prachtig, van alle voorzieningen voorzien. Dora onze gastvrouw heeft gezorgd dat ons verblijf heel aangenaam werd. Zij heeft voor het ontbijt en de avondeten gezorgd. Was helemaal top!. Eigenlijk niets
