Great spot, but ran into power‑point issues—couldn’t even boil a kettle the last morning.

Good food and cold beer, but the accommodation feels rough and needs renovation; the price is too high for what it offers.

The staff were friendly and the location was convenient, but the noise level was a bit high.

For the price it was decent – the room was tidy, there were no bed bugs, and the floor‑mounted mirror was a quirky convenience if you don’t mind crouching. Outside the room the hallway and common areas felt pretty grubby, and after staying at the Edward River Hotel you start to miss even the modest standards of places in India or Egypt. Hopefully it gets better, but it could be a while.

The owner and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, and the rates are spot‑on for anyone coming from out of state. It’s a straightforward, no‑frills place that delivers exactly what you need.
