We loved everything and highly recommend it for holidays or weekend get‑aways, but the route to Assis isn’t ideal; the uphill stretch is roughly a kilometer up and the same back.

We spent two days feeling as if we’d landed in a timeless fairy tale, with the authentic nature wrapping around the agriturismo and framing it as a magical, picturesque place. Butterflies flutter, chickens, donkeys, dogs, cats, and many other animals coexist in perfect harmony: there’s room for everyone, because here the only true guest is the human. The apartments are meticulous in every tiny detail—from handles to porcelain, from tiles to curtains. Every element helps create an atmosphere of harmony and beauty, where nothing is left to chance. The conductor of this wonderful symphony is Valeria. Her breakfast baskets, overflowing with products she makes herself, will stay in our hearts. Freshly baked bread and pastries, preserves and creams, cured meats and eggs, fruit juices, milk, yogurt, kefir, butter and cereals: everything is genuine, all made by her and delivered the night before, because at Montesalce the freedom to have breakfast on your own schedule is part of the experience. At request, you can also enjoy dinner, a journey of authentic flavors, world spices, refined sauces, hearty meat and farmer’s wine. A culinary experience that alone deserves the stay. In the end, the chance to wander into the enchanted forest at dusk to watch fireflies is pure magic that we’ll hardly forget. We’ll carry every moment of these two days in our hearts and can’t wait to return. Thank you, Valeria, for what you do every day, for the care you give your guests and the nature around you. Set in a green, quiet area, the rooms were spotless and the concept of delivering breakfast and dinner trays straight to the room was excellent; we only stayed one night and regretted not being able to extend our visit.
