KX Rooms Kings Cross

The experience was terrible, absolutely not recommended. The hotel didn’t live up to the expectations set by the photos, which were quite different from reality. The room was very dirty, with cobwebs and grime that made it seem like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was in bad condition, with a strong bad smell and no soap available. We also found hair on the sink and on the bed. The room was on the basement floor, it was cold, and the window looked out onto cardboard and various rubbish. At least the gentleman at reception was kind and helpful. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but at least basic cleanliness, hygiene and respect for guests.

The location is practically next to the train station, but the room was missing a TV despite having a bracket and remote; the kettle offered coffee but no milk or tea bags, and there was no staff present. The hallway was cluttered with a lot of tattered items, and there was no shower holder. The room next door was noisy until 3 am.

“Just don't!”

The room had an uneven floor, a TV bracket ripped off the wall, no TV, no place to put a kettle, a dead moth in the cup, one faulty socket that hissed, broken hangers, cheap and tired furniture, a toilet in a cupboard with a wall cavity stuffed with toilet paper, a broken shower‑head bracket, and the shower didn’t work at all. Outside, there were piles of decoration equipment. On arrival, I knocked on the wrong door and was told to go to the other one, only to find I was in the right place all along. I chose this property because I’d loved their other location, so this was a huge letdown. The basement room was too hot, the window wouldn’t open, and I felt sick the whole time. I had booked three nights but left after the first. I visit London often, and this is the worst place I’ve stayed. Terrible value for money.

It’s close to London Cross station. The room was very small, dirty, without an elevator, the stairs were tiny, the room was in the basement, the bedding was poor, and it’s outrageous to pay £1 for this accommodation.

It’s near the train station. The self‑check‑in was fine, but I prefer dealing with people.
