The location was good, but it wasn’t very comfortable; the staff made up for it with excellent service.

The Lighthouse offered a perfect escape from Koh Tao’s town bustle, with stunning views, great people, and tasty food. I spent a month on the island and this hostel delivered the best value I’ve seen. It’s a place that pulls you in, so if you’re planning a set stay, leave room to extend. It’s the best hostel I’ve ever been to because of its strong community vibe, with volunteers who make you feel welcomed and part of the tribe. Solo travelers who want to connect, feel close to nature, and relax will find it ideal. Lighthouse will always hold a special place in my heart; it felt like a home away from home and I’ll definitely return. I couldn’t find any faults—exactly what I wanted in an eco‑friendly spot. It’s tucked into the jungle, so the path up is steep, but it’s worth it. This place proves that difficult roads can lead to beautiful destinations.

Awesome view, interesting and friendly people, tasty breakfast and family dinners. I really loved staying here and will definitely come back if I ever come to Koh Tao again. The way up is a wild ride but totally manageable if you go carefully.

The lighthouse was very remote and peaceful with stunning views. We stayed in a tent that was very comfortable and spacious. The common area was cool, which was nice for chilling out in the heat. They had plenty of seating up there, great for the many hours we spent reading. The view was insane and offered an amazing sunrise each morning. Breakfast was great, and it was nice to sit with other guests and the staff. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. They organized activities like board‑game night, which was fun. The kitchen had a communal fridge that guests could use, which was great. The only downside was accessibility. It was very hard to get to because it’s remote and the road is eroded and steep. Many taxi drivers wouldn’t take us. The lighthouse gave us a number for a taxi driver, who was very good but expensive. We only stayed two nights, so we went down to town once for groceries. If you plan to stay longer, a bike is the only way to get in and out of town multiple times, but the unstable road made us uneasy biking up and down the hill. We knew the property was remote, but we didn’t realize how bad the road conditions were, which was a big factor.
