The hosts were very nice and welcoming; whenever a problem arose I could always talk to them in English. I experienced traditional Maltese living with a private room, bathroom, and a large outdoor balcony with a lounge chair, plus a shared common area. The location was close to the bus line, small supermarkets, and the center of Qala, which is ideal. The fridge was a bit noisy, but I got used to it after the second night. The stairs to the first floor were a bit difficult for me, yet the hosts always offered help.
