The Onsen, the traditional room, and the tranquility of the spot were great; the only annoyance was not having a private bathroom, but it was just a minor detail.

“価格リーズナブルな温泉宿”

We stayed with a 3‑year‑old and my husband; the thick futon was a big plus. The property is a bit old, so every corner isn’t perfectly clean, but it wasn’t a big deal unless you’re a germaphobe. I was worried the family bath would be cold, but it was glass‑enclosed and kept a warm temperature, so I didn’t have to shiver. For the price in Hakone it feels the most reasonable, and I’d like to come back. On the downside, there were no nearby restaurants, and those that existed closed early, so I had to eat at Ashinoko before checking in. The hotel corridor has a microwave and chopsticks, so I could eat convenience store food, but there’s no nearby convenience store, so you have to buy ahead. Also, the parking spots aren’t clearly marked, so you might get a bit confused when parking.

The onsen was great! Three shared baths for about ten rooms looked natural and original, with a sulphur scent and volcanic ash on the surface. The water was hot, almost unbearable, and very healing.

The young New Zealand boy gave a very warm welcome. The onsens were nice and the room was decent. It feels a bit old‑fashioned and could use a refresh.

“Muss man nicht gesehen haben”

The futons were comfortable, but the construction site and the litter outside made it hard to find the place at first, with no prior communication. The restaurant suggestion was poor, though the transfer was fine.
