Ksar Shama - Atlas Mountain Retreat occupies 13 hectares near Toubkal National Park in the Berber region. The retreat offers peaceful, traditionally decorated rooms with Tadelakt tiles, wood ceilings, air conditioning, fireplaces, and private terraces. Guests enjoy a pool, Moroccan restaurant with homegrown produce, bar, and free Wi-Fi. Recreational facilities include table tennis, baby-foot, and Petanque court, with free parking available.

The staff were welcoming and kind, the breakfast was good, the pool was nice, and the place felt calm and peaceful with pretty plants – a little slice of paradise 😁. The pool was a bit cool for our two young kids, and the room was generally clean but not spotless. It’s not my first time in Morocco.

The property is beautifully laid out, the spacious luxury suites are great, and the pool is stunning. The breakfast starts at 8:30 and dinner at 19:30, which feels a bit late when traveling with kids.

It’s suitable for a two‑day rest stop. The tents are modern and well equipped, even the air‑conditioning works. The stay has nothing to do with a “desert excursion”; it’s pure tourist camp. Check‑in isn’t until 15:00, the restaurant has long wait times, the staff is overwhelmed, and it’s overpriced. It’s also very noisy – you can hear your own tent, your neighbors, very clearly.
