We could fish right in front of the place and even process the catch ourselves. The toilet screen was torn, letting bugs in.
“Disappointing and misled.”
The view and the old fishing port give it a rustic charm. They misled us on the deal: we paid about $220 a night for something that should have been $80 a night. The place is poorly maintained, with spiders, junk in the back yard and an untidy, unappealing front yard. It feels neglected. We’re easy to please, but spending 43,000 yen for this is not good enough. It might have been decent 10–15 years ago. The location is remote, so if you’re traveling that far you want good value or deluxe lodging, neither of which this place offers.
The staff were extremely helpful, giving us a homemade guide that clearly explained nearby bargains, recommended spots, and travel times. No negatives.
An exceptional spot with a delicious sea‑bath. The recommended dinner place was a hit.
