I was disappointed by the kitchen setup—only a fridge and microwave are available, and the dining area shown in the photos isn’t for guests. Upstairs there’s just a tiny coffee table and two chairs. When I walked into the kitchen I saw staff‑only signs everywhere; guests can’t use the kitchen or living room except to grab the fridge. A sign also says you can’t make calls from the kitchen or common areas and that the kitchen closes at 7:30 pm, which I had never seen before in a homestay. The room got very hot at night, and the only fan was a small air‑conditioner unit that didn’t vent the hot air outside, so I had to keep the window open. No coffee or tea was provided, and the property isn’t near shops, so I’d suggest buying groceries before arrival. I stayed twice: the first visit was great, Ken was friendly, and other couples were there, creating a nice vibe. The second visit was less pleasant because a lady owner was present. It’s cheap, so you get what you pay for. The staff‑only signs, lack of coffee/tea, and overheating room were the main negatives, and street parking was the only convenience.
“Extras to help to try and get more punters to book”
It was Peter Astin, not Sharron, and everything was superb; requests were handled promptly. A TV in the room would have been a nice addition, and a small fridge on the top landing for milk and drinks would also have helped.
The pillows weren’t very comfy, but that’s the only complaint; otherwise everything was great.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was lively and amazing, though I was itchy all weekend and wondered if the bed linens were the cause. Despite that, the place was enjoyable and the hosts were awesome and welcoming. The bed felt a bit uncomfortable, but we managed to get through the stay.
Getting there was easy and hassle‑free, but I hit my head on a sloping ceiling—classic lol moment.
