Cooinda Lodge Kakadu, situated in Jabiru within Kakadu National Park, features air-conditioned rooms and an outdoor swimming pool. The on-site restaurant and Warradjan Cultural Centre, 1 km away, complement its natural setting. Guests enjoy sunset views from private outdoor seating areas. A private airstrip allows chartered flights for aerial views of the park, offering a unique experience.

We stayed in one of the lodges on beautiful grounds with lawns, garden paths, and trees. Cooinda was charming and felt safe, even when we walked around it in the evening. It was great to have a free washing machine and dryer in a block with lovely décor and cleanliness. The bistro where we ate was pleasant, and having a couple of pools to swim in (with towels provided) was a bonus, as was the on‑site shop. The staff were friendly and helpful, though the floor in our lodge had a coat of reddish dust, and the shower needed a more thorough scrub to remove mold between the tiles.

The gardens around the Lodge and villas were attractive, and the food at the Barra Bar and Mimis was exceptional. The room came stocked with plenty of Kakadu brand toiletries, but only had a kettle, cups, and glasses – no plates, cutlery, or toaster. It was very poorly equipped, so you couldn’t even make a snack because there was nothing to eat it on, and there was no detergent or sponge to wash the cups.

In dieser Lodge passt alles - komfortables Glamping (wir hatten ein Outback Retreat), angenehmes Umfeld, Zugang zum (allerdings nicht Krokodil-freien) Wasser mit fast lichtfreiem Blick auf den Sternenhimmel und zuvorkommende Mitarbeitende. Dazu kommt ein Restaurant mit einer Top-Küche, die man in einem so entlegenen Teil der Welt nicht erwarten würde, und ein Frühstück, das keine Wünsche offen lässt

The location was great, and the bar and snack bar were cozy in the evenings with very friendly staff. However, there were no storage options in the bathroom, and the exterior lights stayed on all night, which was a bit annoying.
