Tranquility was great. However, the long gravel road wasn't mentioned on the site, and the photos were misleading. We expected a cottage connected to the pool as one unit, but the units are small and there are no coffee mugs. It's not as cozy as the pictures imply.

I can see it used to have great style. The gravel road to the gate is very long and the gate instructions weren't communicated beforehand, making the drive tense before reaching the rooms. The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, and there were many spiders and flies in the room. We're used to bugs from gravel roads, but this was unexpected for a R2000 per night stay. It wasn't cleaned as expected, and it wasn't private, so fishing for my boy was unpleasant. I feel for them because it seems like it was nice in the past.

The host was great, the view stunning, rooms fully equipped. We enjoyed our stay. I can only suggest adding a light by the braai area where we stayed, but I'm not sure if it worked since we didn't ask.

The spot is great, but the gravel road to get there is a hassle.

The place looked charming and the location was fantastic, yet we couldn't get any hot water—probably a gas geyser that just wouldn’t work no matter how many times we tried. We were left without a hot shower, and it was odd that there was no electric blanket on the bed even though it was right by the Vaal River in winter. The air conditioner’s heat setting seemed broken; even on the right setting the warm air was weak and the room stayed cold, so we had to bundle up under blankets and rely on body heat to survive the night.
