Located in the picturesque village of Bower Hinton, Hollies Hotel features spacious rooms and suites with lounges, 42-inch plasma-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Ground-floor rooms have patio doors to landscaped gardens. The hotel offers a fitness centre, restaurant with modern European menu, and a cosy bar with oak beams and fireplace, situated in the South-Somerset countryside near the A303.

This large hotel doubles as a conference centre or wedding venue; my Junior Suite, which was an upgrade, was very comfortable with all the expected facilities, the bar and restaurant were both very good and the meals lovely, but because the hotel was fully booked the bar and dining room were very noisy in the evening—almost uncomfortable—mostly due to the sheer number of guests and a few large groups with loud people who don’t respect indoor voices.

It was lively, clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly, with no issues.

There was no AC, the rooms were incredibly hot, and AC is desperately needed.

The location is lovely, the room was quiet with a comfy bed, the restaurant was superb with delicious, plentiful food and delightful staff, there was generous free parking on site, and the building has an interesting history and an impressive list of celebrity past guests.
