Breakfast was solid and the staff were friendly. I’d come back for sure.

The location was spot‑on for the Bluegrass festival and the 24‑hour check‑in was convenient. The front desk gal was very nice and personable, and the luggage racks were easy to use. Room 203 was clean, stocked with plenty of shower lotions and towels, and the breakfast area was great with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, cereals, yogurts, a pancake maker, and sweet rolls under a warming light. Coffee was good. However, the price of $241.78 for one night was way too high. I’d stayed at a Holiday Inn before and been impressed, so this felt overcharged. I booked a non‑refundable Standard King on the first floor near the lobby, using a walker, and requested a tub/shower combo with a grab bar in the middle of the tub, as shown on the web page. No response came from the hotel. At check‑in, they said no King rooms were available on the first floor and offered me a first‑floor standard Queen with a walk‑in shower instead, but no price adjustment was made. The room was the farthest from the lobby they could get, ignoring my “near the lobby” request. The walk‑in shower lacked grab bars, had a very slippery floor, and the shower head was so high that it couldn’t be adjusted, making it hard to avoid falling. We also had to complete a pre‑registration with vehicle info and a driver’s license, only to be charged an extra $30 for early check‑in after the final total was given. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, there were no USB ports on the nightstands, the only chair was a hard desk chair, and the HVAC system was loud enough to keep us awake. The thermostat on the wall never seemed to shut off. I’d rather stay at a cheaper hotel in Quincy, about 9 miles away, next year. There was no coffee maker in the room.

The carpets in the rooms were the only downside.

Everything was great except the location – there were no restaurants nearby.

As hotel owners, we expect to pay a little more for holidays, special events, etc., but being gouged 500 % for a room night is unethical! Paying $182 for the first night seemed reasonable, but $811 for Friday night was unconscionable.
