“Aceptable calidad precio.”

The location of the accommodation is unbeatable, right in front of the Colosseum. The owner offered to move us to another of his hotels, supposedly better, for free because this one was under renovation. We declined because we wanted this great location. Perhaps this and the low season influenced our stay: we were the only guests in the hotel and only saw one staff member at check‑in and check‑out. The hotel seemed closed and everything was off, which felt a bit odd. The room was very spacious and its comfort (low medium) matched the low price we paid. Cleaning could have been better. In short, very cheap and well‑located, with a logical price‑quality ratio.

The ruins were right outside the door and there were cheap, tasty restaurants nearby, plus I could see hot air balloons in the morning. The place was quiet and the staff were kind and helpful. The mosquitoes were brutal—there’s a gap in the door that lets them in, so I got bitten all over. The hot water supply was low, so I had to finish my shower quickly.

“I will definitely stay again when I visit Luxor next time!”

I stayed here a second time and the three best aspects were the location, the friendly staff, and the food at the hotel’s restaurant. The chef let me sample his new recipe and it was fantastic! For a week I didn’t need to go anywhere else for meals. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking, right next to the statue of Memnon with the Theban mountains in sight. The only issue was a mosquito in my room, but I sprayed bug spray and it was fine.

This guest house, used by archaeologists working on the western bank of Luxor, is very affordable and in a prime spot. Breakfast comes with a view of the Memnon statue. Archaeology fans will love it. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly. Dinner isn’t included but dining at the hotel’s restaurant while watching the Memnon night view is superb. The menu is extensive and as good as a five‑star hotel, with garlic shrimp, salmon salad, and beef carpaccio among the highlights. The only downside is the limited number of rooms, so during excavation season it’s hard to book—make a reservation early.
