I stayed here again in the exact same room. I was traveling for work and arrived late, after the bar had closed at 8pm, so I had to unlock the door myself. In the morning I left on my own, so I didn’t meet anyone during my brief stay. The room stayed unchanged, which is good – a spacious bed and a decent shower are all you need for one night, and The Watership Down Inn delivered. The only issue was the lack of staff, which felt odd, and the 8pm bar closing was early, so I couldn’t have a pint after my long drive.

The extra charge was £10 per dog per night and £15 per person per night for breakfast. I stayed for 4 days for work and my dog came along. We booked a Gardenroom, which is next to the garden and has one double bed and two single beds. The room was spacious, the bed was good, and the shower/bathroom was fine. There was no cleaning service, and I still paid an extra £40 for the dog. After we complained, a rude cleaner came on the last day to replace the towels, straighten the bed, but she didn’t clean the floor at all – the stone floor from the garden room got dirty with a dog! It was a lot of extra money, and we will never choose this hotel again. The accommodation only communicated outside the app.
