The hotel had an integrated spa/onsen at the foot of the volcanic chain, great for hiking, but it unfortunately doesn't allow tattoos in the onsen.

The staff at the dining venue were very nice—polite, smiling, and engaging—but the front desk staff wore gowns that looked dirty or torn, which felt low‑fashion for uniforms. After using the large bath, there was no system to collect used towels, so I had to bring wet towels back to my room. Even though it’s a ryokan, there was only one face towel per guest, and getting an extra one required going to the front desk, which was inconvenient.
