The Windmill On The Common, a boutique hotel and traditional pub, is situated in the heart of Clapham Common, surrounded by 200 acres of green space. Individually decorated rooms feature air-conditioning, 36-inch TVs, Nespresso machines, and en-suite bathrooms with Algotherm Premium toiletries. The hotel offers free parking, WiFi, and a full English breakfast, with easy access to central London via two nearby Tube stations.

The property feels outdated and in poor condition, clearly needing a full renovation. The hotel’s rates for rooms and food are extremely high and do not match the value or quality offered; you’re essentially paying a premium for something that simply isn’t there, and the prices are unjustifiably high compared to what you actually receive.

The stay was fabulous, like a country inn but in a great spot next to Clapham Common, with a super pub and restaurant. The only downside was that the corridors were a little hard to navigate.

I had a wonderful stay and can’t understand the negative reviews. Our room was cozy, well‑appointed, and quiet, with comfortable beds and a welcome air conditioner on a warm, humid October day. I enjoyed the view of The Common, the spacious shower with good water pressure, and the well‑stocked mini‑bar. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was excellent, especially the onion rings. The staff were incredibly nice, explaining everything in detail and being very attentive. I would definitely stay here again.
