The towels were torn, the blanket was torn too, the TV had no channels, and there was no bottled water; it felt more like a resident unit than a hotel.

The place was easy to reach, offered a nice view, and was spotless.

The lift service was terrible during the public holiday, with a wait of about 40 minutes; the toilet was not clean and smelled awful right after check‑in, and there was no sign indicating where the Muslim prayer area was.

I was deeply disappointed with the cleanliness at The Shore Melaka Residence. When I checked in at about 2:45 p.m., the room was visibly dirty and dust‑covered: the floor hadn’t been swept, the bedsheets were dusty, and the cabinets were also dusty. I called management, who promised a cleaner would arrive within 30 minutes, but after more than an hour no one came. We had to leave the room for lunch because we were hungry, and even after telling management we had returned, no cleaner was sent. I ended up cleaning the dusty cabinets myself. This was especially bad because we were traveling with a six‑month‑old baby; the dust caused severe sneezing and itchiness, and the baby started coughing and sneezing badly. We asked to be moved to a cleaner room, but a staff member named Austin refused and said “all the rooms are the same,” which is alarming. We checked in at about 2:45 p.m. and waited until around 8:00 p.m. with no help. At about 8:30 p.m., after nearly six hours of waiting and dealing with the unacceptable condition, we had no choice but to check out that same night.
