“Overnight to see Don McLean in showroom. Love the ice machine.”
The balcony offered a great view.

The Star Grand on the Gold Coast was fantastic; our room was beautiful and roomy, and the king bed was quite comfortable for a picky sleeper. However, housekeeping was lacking: the same glass of water stayed on my side table the entire stay, and they only changed towels and made the bed; the open shower caused water to spill onto the floor.

The room was fine, but the shower floor and walls needed a good scrub. The buffet breakfast lacked variety; the egg station was too slow when the hotel was full and could use an extra station on each side.

I loved the vibe, the food, and the fact that it didn’t feel like a casino; the view from the room wasn’t great, but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway.

The meals were good, the machine room was open for hours, and the café staff were friendly.
