“A family of four with a kid”

We were a family of four, and the “cottage” we booked turned out to be a cramped 7th‑floor unit just above street level, not an independent cabin as we’d imagined. It sat on a terrace with artificial grass, and the two bedrooms were neat, with clean sheets and comfy beds, and the terrace view was amazing. Still, paying 600 riyal felt disappointing for us. While the aesthetics and privacy might appeal to couples, families might find it off‑putting, especially since the bathroom was far from ideal. The house was smaller than the photos showed, and with four of us it got pretty stuffy. Even at noon the interior was dark, one chandelier bulb was dead and many others were dim. The clock didn’t work. The shower area in the bathroom was quite dirty, with leaking pipes and stains. There’s a tiny kitchen on the left side of the entrance, and we struggled a bit with the internet before it finally worked. The outdoor exercise machines were a bit worn but functional. Tables and chairs inside were a bit wonky. We also ran out of toiletries, so we called room service, which responded quickly. All in all, it was a let‑down for 600 riyal; the bathroom was the biggest issue.
