The property is in an exceptional spot, with spacious, beautiful rooms, a great pool, and a friendly, welcoming owner, but the location’s potential isn’t fully realised in a low‑tourism setting, and the breakfast doesn’t match the setting.

The hotel was peaceful, the pool was nice, Vittorio treated us well, and the location up on the hill felt completely safe; however, the breakfast was repetitive and only sweet, lacking a toaster, sliced bread, deli meats, cheeses, and any fruit, which made ten days of the same spread the worst part, and the shower in our room had no pressure at all.

I stayed at a spot higher than Modigliana, so it was breezy, panoramic and private. The outdoor area was well kept, especially the pool, which turned out larger than the photos suggested. Vittorio’s friendliness and willingness made the vibe relaxed and simple. Breakfast was good, and for Ferragosto Vittorio arranged a light lunch that let us enjoy the pool all day. The summer version was lovely… hoping to try the winter one too! We didn’t sleep with the windows open because there were no screens and we feared mosquitoes, so we turned on the air‑conditioning, which was a bit noisy. I think sleeping with the window open would have felt better temperature-wise.
The owner was friendly, the swimming pool was great, and the privacy of a small hotel plus the views were excellent. The Italian sweet breakfast offered no real alternatives. An egg or some real bread/cheese or meat would have been nice, but the coffee was great!
