The location was spot‑on, just a stone’s throw from the beach, but the only drawback was the lack of a private beach.

The photos of the rooms matched reality: they were spacious, well‑arranged, elegant and functional, with very comfortable bedding and a light duvet that earned no criticism. Yet, despite the promising pictures and a name that suggests luxury, this 5* Palace feels more like a 3*, and for a hotel with such a “luxurious” title I expected better. We came to enjoy the pool and all‑inclusive cocktails, only to be disappointed by the drinks, which tasted watery and industrial, like the cheapest supermarket options. On breakfast, the absence of bottled juice was a let‑down for a 5* Palace; only vending machines offered concentrate mixed with tap water. We dined twice on buffets that leaned heavily toward German tourists and were rather limited; the Asian corner was pleasant, but the only truly good thing was the pasta, a shame for a 5*. In the room, the walls were thin, hot water varied even mid‑afternoon, and pressure was low. The AC was weak, cooling only the hallway, shutting off as soon as the balcony door opened and never restarting automatically. Free parking was a neglected square across the street, protected only by a fickle barrier that required a €20 cash deposit for the remote. Staff were generally friendly, except for one pool server who was rather unpleasant with guests. In short, we booked this hotel to end our Greek holiday on a high note, but we regret not extending our stay at our previous hotel, which advertised 4* and met those standards.

Parking was available, rooms were pretty and clean, food was good. The staff were not very friendly, the all‑inclusive system had low‑quality drinks, and there was no decaf option at breakfast.

The rooms were clean, the sea was close, a doctor was available in the afternoon, the staff were engaged, and the Know Bar sat right on the beach. The buffet was varied. The common areas were not clean—just changing the hallway carpet would brighten things up. We couldn’t access the small beach opposite the hotel because it was too crowded. Renting a sun lounger cost €7 even for half an hour. Adding some activities like a Cretan wine and olive oil tasting and excursions would be a plus. More generally, you should come to Hersonissos to swim or as a base for exploring the region, because the town itself has no charm.
