“It was a complete and utter disappointment peppered with blatant incompetence.”
Absolutely nothing good. It was a terrible experience from start to finish and I didn’t even stay the night. I had to find a valet person upon arrival; it’s ridiculous that they charge extra to park your car. We waited almost an hour to check in in a hot lobby. When I complained about the wait and the valet charge to the front desk lady, she shrugged and didn’t care. I booked a 2‑queen‑bed suite with a pull‑out bed, but the room door opened to a 1‑bed “junior suite” with no couch and no second bed—exactly what I didn’t book. They want luxury rates for a Holiday Inn experience. After the lobby situation, we went back downstairs to complain, but the line still snaked around the hot lobby to the door. When I finally got the incompetent desk lady’s attention, she said, “we gave you what was available. It’s a junior suite.” I told her I booked that over a month ago and it was not what I had paid for. After much back and forth, we cancelled and left. The only manager in sight was the Food and Beverage manager, who was just as incompetent. When I asked for help with the valet, he pointed me to their desk. I said I know where the valet desk is—I need a valet! It was an awful experience all around. The air conditioner was broken in 90% of the hotel, including most rooms, during a heatwave. They had just renovated and were celebrating their 100th year in business—total embarrassment and failure. Don’t waste your time or money at this dump. Everyone else in the hotel and lobby was complaining about the same things.
