The spot was great, but I couldn't shut the bathroom door, the floor heater had peeled off the wall, the towels smelled stale and felt hard, and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls.

The Charlesworth, a late‑19th‑century hotel in Bournemouth’s Westcliff district, sits within an eight‑minute walk of award‑winning beaches, shops, bars and restaurants. Retaining original period features, the three‑storey building offers 13 en‑suite rooms equipped with fans, Freeview TV, tea/coffee facilities, showers and hairdryers. Pet‑friendly options, free Wi‑Fi, and on‑site private parking (extra) complete the stay.

We ate breakfast at various spots around Bournemouth each morning and the location was fantastic, but that hill walk back from the beach nearly killed me in the 29‑degree heat 😂😂😂.

The beds were comfy, yet the room looked dirty with a filthy carpet, the last renovation seemed to be from the last century if it even happened, the shower tray drain was slightly clogged leaving ankle‑deep water, there was flaky roughcast, plaster, and paint everywhere, and the price for such quality was a joke—worth at most half of it, plus a bunch of other issues.

Everything was perfect and the staff were amazing; I’ll definitely book again.

The location was great, but the property was run down and in disrepair: holes in the walls were patched with just plaster, electricity sockets were hanging off the wall, the Wi‑Fi never worked, and when I reported it the response was unhelpful.
