“Do not recommend. Terrible value for money.”
The view was great, but the cost was awful. We found hairs in the bathroom door on both nights, which is unacceptable when paying $100 a night; the facilities were also poorly maintained. Breakfast was extremely sparse, just a small table with a couple of items, and worse than all other (much cheaper) hotels we stayed at in Peru; butter, cheese and milk were left out in the sun for hours, and the only fruit offered was apple/orange. The location, though beautiful, became a problem: rap battles with loud speakers went on until 1 am, and military parades with megaphones, trumpets, drums, and the whole works took place in the plaza de armas, waking us at 7 am and making it impossible to rest. We tried to relax, read, and enjoy the balcony with the view on several occasions, but a group of musicians played loud music for hours every day and asked for money afterward, which made it impossible to rest. When we asked for a bottle of water one evening to take an antibiotic, the staff simply said they didn’t have one, made no effort to help, and was not friendly at all. Overall, it is not worth the money and you can’t even properly enjoy the view.
