“Lovely place for a short break”

I didn’t get any food included, but I really liked the place. There weren’t many activities for kids, which turned out to be a plus because it was so quiet. It was a shame BBQs weren’t allowed, but I understood the reason given the dry conditions in mid‑summer. The adjacent hotel has a nice bar, but it made us feel like outsiders. Nothing else really stood out; we enjoyed our stay, but the back and front doors were hard to lock and the balcony handle looked like it could fall off with missing screws.

The location was great, but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I could see a lot of dog hair on both the sofa and the floor.

“Overall good holiday experience for the whole family. Educational on river boats & river sides”

We had a great time on the Ant river house boat, the location was perfect and it was worth the money. My family and I enjoyed spending time with our grandkids, and they can't wait to go back. However, I was a bit taken aback when the online staff asked about our nationality - I thought my MBE title would have given them a hint! The ground staff were lovely, though, and made an effort to check in on us.

“Good value for money, could have been cleaner”

This house boat was in a good spot for fishing, but that's about where the positives end. The place was a bit of a mess - cobwebs everywhere, not enough chairs, and some basics like forks were missing. And with the road bridge right nearby, the traffic noise was a real pain.

“Pleasant stay for a few nights, with a relaxed atmosphere”

The location was great, with a pub and garden center just a short walk away, and I loved that the boat moved a bit on the water. But the boat itself needed a bit of a refresh - the frying pan was ancient and the shower had some mold issues. Still, the night cleaning and fresh towels were a nice touch.
