The price and comfort were great, but the coffee maker was awful—every time it got hot it slipped from its holder and spilled all over the table, so I had to use linens to clean up.

The bed was comfy and the bathroom clean, yet the carpet was dirty, the building felt very old and uninviting, and the front‑desk man was nice at check‑in. At 7:30 am the lobby was still locked with no staff or breakfast; an hour later it opened. The exit door to the parking lot at the end of the hall had a broken lock, propped open with a rock, and stayed open all night—very insecure.

I didn’t stay for breakfast. The parking lot housed a derelict motorhome that people were living in, with several cars occupied by people who looked like homeless or ex‑cons. I felt unsafe and voiced my concerns at check‑in; the lady at the counter told me the occupants were harmless. As a retired law‑enforcement officer, I know what harmless looks like—someone covered in prison tattoos is not harmless.

After driving in the sun for hours, checking into a clean, cool room was a relief; this is my second stay here. The beds are a bit high but comfortable, and the pillows are great. It’s close to the freeway, gas stations, fast‑food spots, and offers some of the best sunsets. One side of town has a super Walmart, the other side is more commercial but interesting. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, etc. The place is dog‑friendly and family‑friendly. On checkout day there was no hot water in the sink or shower; the hotel offered no discount or resolution, just “we’ll look into it.” Smokers and vapers should be moved away from the front door to another area—no one wants to walk through that to enter or exit, especially since I’m asthmatic and don’t want my service animal breathing that.
