The hotel is very pretty, and the cleaning ladies were very helpful. The lack of attention was terrible: how could I be locked in the bathroom at midnight because I needed to go, and they told me they could only help until the next morning, apparently expecting me to sleep in the bathroom? The person in charge was too indifferent, saying she was leaving because she was tired, and when I explained I’d have to push the door to get out and risk breaking it, she said I should handle it more carefully and quietly, and that she couldn’t do anything that wasn’t part of the hotel. The next day she was the one who received me into the room. On top of that, the situation was uncomfortable when the lady in charge treated the cleaning ladies badly in front of guests, especially Ms. Viviana, which was very bad. They later replied that they had no reception at night, which seems very risky for a hotel; if a water pipe bursts or something happens at night, there is no trained staff to help you, and instead they say it’s too late and you’ll get help the next day.

It’s a place with good isolation, so you can rest without hearing the noise from adjacent rooms. It doesn’t have heating or a fireplace, and the restaurant service isn’t timely.

“No fue lo que esperábamos”

The place is pleasant. In the villas, all the noise from neighboring guests is audible; in our case, they arrived in the early morning speaking loudly and it was all heard, plus the loud man at night sounded like he was sleeping in our room. They offered restaurant service and boiled dishes, but by 7 pm the restaurant was already closed, so we had to go elsewhere for food. Breakfast is charged separately from the stay and is not good; they don’t ask how you want your eggs, only serve scrambled eggs with bread, French fries, rice, and a cup of coffee because there are no other drink options. Then they were asked and resolved with panela water, but that wasn’t the first choice. We really expected more from the hotel.

Easy to find and reach; the location is equidistant from Pueblo El Encano and El Puerto, 10 to 15 minutes to each. The staff is definitely a highlight, and the hot water in the shower is great. The mattresses could be better.

“Una muy mala noche”

Ferney’s service was the highlight of the whole trip; he was kind, attentive and always ready to help, and we really appreciated it. The room itself was beautiful, spacious and comfortable, but they demanded advance payment even though the listing said payment was at the hotel, and after we paid and sent the receipt nobody replied. On arrival they asked for an excessive deposit for our dogs, which had never been mentioned. The TV only had three channels and there was no internet. The ceiling leaked near the chimney. They claimed to have a restaurant but it was closed. The curtains offered no privacy. Hot water was intermittent, and worst of all we slept terribly because we could hear everything the guests upstairs did – talking, laughing, even the bed moving as they walked. It’s very noisy, and while the hotel isn’t responsible for other guests’ behavior, it should not have assigned us a room above an occupied one. In the end we only managed a couple of hours of sleep, and the price was far too high for such a poor rest.
