“Loved its solitude and remoteness”
The remote spot was a treat, with stunning views and a unique road access that felt special. From the junction about 600 m down the hill, a tuk‑tuk or a walk is required because of the road conditions. The cabin itself was cozy and offered remarkable views back to Rangala. Bring your own supplies; there’s a small shop on the road to the cabin for vegetables or other items, otherwise it’s about 7‑9 km to town.
“Hübsches Cottage in wunderschöner Lage”
Living right in nature with breathtaking views. In the evenings you can relax in front of the hut and in the mornings admire the wildlife: birds and small lizards were always visible. The house has everything you need: cozy and equipped with a small kitchen. The food prepared by our caretakers was fantastic! A plus: a small dog named Rocky lives at the house – he even accompanies you on walks through the tea plantations. Our host Eric was always easy to reach and arranged a tour of the Knuckles for us. In the area you can also do some very nice hikes on your own. We felt very comfortable and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for relaxation and nature, a bit away from tourist hotspots. Kandy is also easy to reach if you ever want to go into the city. Please note that the last stretch to the cottage is best tackled with a tuk‑tuk (which is no problem, as there are plenty of options).
It’s a nice silent place with a beautiful view. The caretakers were very kind and made delicious food for us. There was a very sweet dog named Rocky who was always around and even accompanied us on a hike
“Pace!”
The cottage was isolated, quiet, a place of peace and serenity! I’d recommend it for a break from the chaos and to immerse yourself in the jungle with some trekking among the Knuckles. The host was available, responsive and organized! The location isn’t the easiest to reach, but a tuk‑tuk makes it easy.
A little jewel box a few miles from everything in the mountains, surrounded by tea fields. Eric organized everything for us. The food was great, everything was perfect. The road up is tricky, but manageable with a tuk‑tuk or a motorbike.
