“Comfortable guest house”
The spot was fabulous—quiet street, close to the main Hanok village by the stream, yet only 10 steps from the action. I could return during the day for a quick rest and to drop off shopping. The room was comfortable, clean, and had basic amenities like a refrigerator and kettle (no cups). Shampoo, basic toiletries, and towels were provided. The staff had no access to the phone number listed; the number was ONDA, a Korean booking aggregator, and no one answered messages or emails. I sent messages and emails about check‑in instructions close to the date, but received no response. When I arrived, a room with my name was ready and a phone number was given for the code. There was no staff on site; the guesthouse is completely unmanned. If you expect staff or a chance to interact with other guests, you’ll find none. The caretaker is reachable by phone, and when I needed an extra sheet, it was supplied a few hours later. You’re on your own. The neighbors were noisy—other guests talked loudly until 2 am, which made it hard to sleep. This isn’t the guesthouse’s fault, but if you’re a light sleeper or traveling with kids, it will be very difficult to stay here because the walls are paper thin and even a normal conversation can be disturbing. I guess you need staff on site to enforce basic decency and discipline to avoid disturbances past midnight.
