“Disappointing - be very careful which room you book!”
The location is unbeatable—right in the city center, with the metro on the opposite street and Garibaldi train station just one stop away. A supermarket is a few steps away, and there are plenty of cafés and bookstores nearby. Breakfast was at one of those cafés, and the pastries were tasty. Almost every photo in the listing shows the best, most spacious room, but that wasn’t the case for ours. We booked the twin‑bed room, which felt cramped and small, with the “twin beds” (one of them not even a proper bed but a small camping bed) stacked under each other, leaving no space to put them side by side. Yes, it technically matched the description we were told by the host—who rather bluntly informed us when we complained—but it was still disappointing. Even ignoring that, there were other problems: the room was extremely basic, with no plates, cups, or utensils; there was a kettle but no mugs for tea. The blankets were thin, made of coarse linen, and not very comfortable. The toilet had little water: after one flush, you couldn’t flush again for hours. The shower took a long time to warm up. The walls were paper‑thin, and we could hear everything happening in other rooms of the unit, making it hard to relax. We expected better because of the high reviews, and perhaps we would have had a better experience in one of the larger rooms. As it was, it turned out to be a disappointment through and through.
