The old building was lovely and in a good spot. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. I paid for my reservation but the hotel hadn’t received the payment, so I had to pay again when I arrived. I’m still trying to sort it out and it’s a nightmare to deal with. Don’t use them to book; I know others have had similar problems.

The train station was a stone's throw away and the breakfast spread was solid, but the smell coming from a painting still in progress was a bit off-putting.

“never again”

The hotel’s proximity to the city centre and the car park right in front of the building were handy, and breakfast was decent, but the bathroom door wouldn’t lock, the toilet was blocked, and no alternative was offered; the room (Winston) was simply unacceptable.

“A stay in a historical home in Hereford.”

Staying at Aylestone Court felt like stepping into a history book, with every corner echoing its past, and Jon the owner is clearly working hard to restore each room; it almost felt like I’d slipped out of a Jane Austen novel and forgotten my empire line gown! 😁 However, a few tweaks would help: clean the windows, stock higher‑end toiletries, open the bar a bit later, fix the squeaky stairs, and perhaps produce a pamphlet or a book at reception to highlight the history.

“Great central place to stay in Hereford”

The owner and staff were warm and helpful, the building’s character was charming and well kept, and the full English breakfast—complete with a plant‑based option—was included in the rate, making for a flawless experience.
