We had expected this to be just another stop on our Italy map, yet Spello and Residenza San Jacopo stole our hearts. Spello turned out to be a true gem—small, intimate, charming, and free of tourist crowds—perfect for slowing down, resting, and soaking up authentic Italian vibes. Residenza San Jacopo sits right in the town centre, making everything nearby, yet the apartment itself is quiet and peaceful. The building is traditional, built of stone and wooden beams, giving it a unique, genuine character. I love places with history, soul and atmosphere that a modern hotel can’t replicate. The apartment is beautiful, well‑equipped, and serves as an excellent base for exploring Spello and the surrounding villages. Convenient train connections are a bonus, and the owners are incredibly friendly, warm and helpful. From the start they offered us a table reservation at their nearby restaurant, which turned out to be a perfect ten! The restaurant itself is a real highlight, especially the Strangozzi al tartufo—pure world‑class mastery. It’s one of those flavours that sticks with you long after you return home. This place had everything we were looking for on our trip: a beautiful, atmospheric apartment, central location, silence, unique ambience, great food, and wonderful hosts. We stayed for only a short while and left with the feeling that we’d found a place we’d love to return to. I highly recommend Residenza San Jacopo and Spello. It was more than just another point on our map; it’s a place that stays in the heart.
