Breakfast was excellent, featuring locally sourced products. The hosts set the tone for the entire stay—warm, welcoming, and that warmth shows through their staff. The consistent staff turnover says everything about the working atmosphere. I’ve been visiting for several years and will always return if I need a place to stay and eat locally.

The building is beautiful, and the food and staff are amazing. Nothing else to note.

John and Louise and the team were exceptional hosts, so very friendly and welcoming with nothing being to much trouble. The room was lovely and comfortable. We stayed for two evening meals both delicious and good choices. Must also mention Linda who cooks a fabulous breakfast and even comes in early so breakfast can be ready as early as 7.30am if required. We had a wonderful stay and would like to thank everyone at the Old Hunters Lodge and we will be back again soon . We could not find any faults, all good

It felt so homely and comfortable. The hosts were lovely and the food was amazing. The only downside was that the tea and coffee making facility was at the bottom of the stairs—I’d have preferred it in my room.
