The large rooms and big balcony were impressive, as was the spacious shower. The location above Merano was beautiful and completely peaceful. Nothing was at all disruptive.

I stayed in a very comfortable, spacious single room with a balcony; the whole house exuded coziness and style. The host was excellent and friendly, the garden was lovely and quiet, and the pool area blended nicely into the greenery with a soothing view. The place was well connected by bus, but even better, it was close to Schloss Trauttmansdorf and right on the picturesque Sissi‑Way. Nothing to complain about!

This hotel isn’t about flashy modern design but about a place where you just feel comfortable. The location is stunning, only about five minutes from the beautiful gardens of Schloss Trauttmansdorff, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards, with a wonderful mountain view, and yet Merano is quickly reachable. Inside the hotel it’s pleasantly quiet. Everything was very clean and well maintained; our room was cleaned daily. We had a nice balcony with lounge chairs and a fantastic view. The bed was comfortable, the blankets warm, and the bathroom was spacious, with a bathtub and bidet. The only uncertainty was whether the bathroom ventilation worked properly. The host was especially noteworthy: very friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, creating an atmosphere where you feel almost at home after a short time. The pool is a big plus: clean, quiet, with a magnificent mountain and vineyard view. The house itself isn’t new and the furnishings have a charm of past decades, but everything is tidy, well kept, and cozy. We also liked the lobby. The only real criticism was the breakfast. There’s no classic buffet and you have to ask the host what’s available or what he can bring or prepare. Because you don’t know exactly what options there are beforehand, it’s a bit inconvenient. For gluten and lactose intolerant guests the selection was unfortunately very limited. Gluten‑free alternatives, plant milk, and more fresh vegetables would have improved the breakfast significantly. Given the price level in Merano, we still found the value for money very good. Many comparable accommodations in the area were much more expensive. Our verdict: 4+ out of 5 stars. The Tannerhof
