The room was nice and spacious, but it came with a price. In the first night we found a cockroach in the room, and the hotel offered no apology. The staff were generally inflexible and communication was hard. The night before, you had to choose a breakfast time in advance, and a spontaneous dinner at the hotel wasn’t possible. The hotel is very noisy; you can hear neighbors’ calls and conversations. The ladies’ sauna smells very musty.

We loved our stay at Monjusou—the hotel, rooms, property, and service were amazing. It was so clean and beautiful, the onsen spa was incredible, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Nothing to dislike.

Ryokan exceptional! The room is very spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a small terrace by the water. The staff are helpful and welcoming. The location is perfect, just steps from the beach and the chairlift. The onsen was very clean, and both the dinner and breakfast were exceptional.
