“Overall really good”
I liked the view, the vibe, the safety, and it’s just very family‑friendly, a little away from the main street. I do think one white light could improve the room, especially for us girls wearing our makeup.

This hotel focuses on its location—situated high on a steep hill with direct views of majestic Mt Kinabalu. Fresh mountain air comes through the room windows. The main restaurant at the bottom of the hotel doesn’t serve alcohol, but the casual “Hauss” café outside does—wine, beer, cocktails. A good base to explore Kinabalu Park, Poring Springs, etc. To be honest, the floor we were on—the 8th—looked a bit tired. A fresh light paint colour and new carpet would make it look ten times better. The room sizes were good—big, comfortable beds, good linen. Bathrooms were fine too. Overall a bit dated but clean and comfortable, and the mountain view is awesome.

The staff were really great and went above and beyond, helping with recommendations and booking a taxi for a day trip to Poring Hot Springs; we stayed in a chalet with incredible views of Mt. Kinabalu, and we loved Hauss and its vibe at the two café/restaurant outlets. A shuttle to and from Kundasang centre would be very helpful, given the steep incline/decline and the 20‑minute walk, and the bathrooms could use a little refresh.

The environment was very nice and clean, but the rooms, nearby restaurants, and the misty pine tree surroundings left something to be desired.

The location was fantastic with unobstructed views of Mt. KK, the staff were friendly, and the rooms were spacious, yet the property feels very dated, the rooms are dark with very basic fittings for the price, and the food selection is very limited.
