Everything was great, and I’d love to see a sea‑view room sometime. I have no complaints, though I did find some foreign guests’ table manners quite off‑putting and would have preferred to avoid sharing the same time slots with them.

The food, the kids’ play area with table tennis and toys, and the open‑air rooftop bath were all highlights. On the downside, the bathroom plumbing kept flooding and the toilet was cramped.

The view from the room and the meals were absolutely fantastic, and having both a rooftop open‑air bath and a regular large bath was simply the best. I’m a huge fan of crab, so the plentiful crab and seafood dishes were a real treat. If I had to point out anything, it would be that the hotel could promote Hakodate’s attractions and brochures more aggressively, and it was a pity the bad weather kept us from reaching the sandy beach.

The weather wasn’t great, but the seaside setting still gave a resort vibe, and the kids had a blast with the ping‑pong table and games. The on‑site hot spring was wonderfully relaxing, and I found the breakfast both tasty and well‑balanced. Getting a meal elsewhere without a car proved very tricky, and I worried about ending up without dinner. I had to rely on the tram and bus to reach the restaurant district, then took a taxi back because I was exhausted, so staying multiple nights would probably be too demanding.
