“A gem to discover off the main road”
Hello from Montreal, Canada! Even though it took us 26 hours of flying and 3 hours of driving to get here, we’d do it all over again to experience this one‑of‑a‑kind resort filled with genuinely kind staff. They were so communicative from the moment I booked through a third party right until check‑out. During my stay they used WhatsApp to contact me conveniently and make arrangements so that my experience was comfortable. The staff were always a joy to talk with, even with the language barriers between us, and they always made an effort to ensure we had everything taken care of. We rented the Hillside Studio villa and the villa itself was even better than the pictures listed on their website. The bed was sooooooooo comfortable and the pillows were a dream to sleep on. The welcome snacks and daily fresh fruits were nicely curated. Although the resort itself lacked facilities found in other 4‑5 star hotels or resorts, the excursions and experiences they offer more than make up for it. They offer culinary classes of the local food, water rafting, ATV rides in the local town, a small zoo and many more! (And honestly, I’d rather go on an ATV ride in the mountains than go to the gym at such a high altitude.) It is true that GRAB on GOJEK doesn’t work in the local area, but there is a convenient store down the block from the main entrance and the Cerita Kita restaurant offers a wide variety of food and drinks with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. I have been to 50+ cities across the world and stayed at all different kinds of places from Airbnb rentals, big brand hotels and resorts, private chalets and domes in the woods, and this is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed at.
